2023 Acura TLX Type S PMC Edition First Look

2023 Acura TLX Type S PMC Edition – As a result of the fact that manufacturing of the Type S versions of the vehicle will come to an end this year, the Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC), which is responsible for the hand assembly of the Acura NSX supercar, is going to need a new purpose in order to fulfill its responsibilities. Well, a new purpose, at the very least, and Acura has been striving to give it some over the past few years with its normal-looking on the outside, secretly hand-made batches of PMC Editions of its popular models. This has been Acura’s plan all along. These editions are produced at PMC’s private facilities in limited numbers and are sold only there.

These mostly ordinary Acura models are usually given some special paint—a lustrous red on the 2020 TLX PMC Edition, a blazing orange on the 2021 RDX PMC Edition, etc.—and carry the distinction of being hand-built in the same factory as the NSX supercar, even by the same technicians. Additionally, these models carry the designation of PMC Editions. PMC stands for Performance Manufacturing Center. PMC stands for Performance Manufacturing Consortium. In addition, certain models are labeled as PMC, which is an abbreviation for “Precision Manufacturing Craftsmanship.” Who among this PMC family is the newest member to join the organization? The sedan version of the TLX from the most current production generation.

2023 Acura TLX Type S PMC Edition Review

In the past, there was a model of the TLX known as the PMC Edition; however, it was based on the TLX model from the previous generation. This was previously mentioned. This 2023 Acura TLX PMC Edition combines not only the most recent generation of the TLX with the PMC treatment but also the TLX in its more powerful 355-horsepower Type S version, which also receives Acura’s torque-vectoring Super Handling All-Wheel Drive. In addition, this Acura TLX PMC Edition comes with a number of unique interior and exterior design elements. This sport sedan with a name that has a huge number of characters will, ironically, be built in a limited amount, although Acura has not yet said how many will be created in total. (Previous PMCs were produced in numbered runs, and the inside of each model was adorned with a plaque bearing the model’s unique serial number.) There is a plaque that looks very similar to this one on the new ’23 TLX, but all it says is “001,” and it doesn’t say how many there are in total.) It is, of course, produced by hand at Acura’s PMC in Ohio, and as an added touch of sophistication, each vehicle will be transported to its delivery location in a covered, single-car carrier in order to save the paint from scratches and other imperfections.

Interior & Exterior

This TLX PMC Edition is a lot more serious-looking car than the one that came before it, and a large part of the reason for this is because it is based on the Type S version of Acura’s midsize sedan. It is equipped with copper-colored 21-inch wheels, components made of carbon fiber for the rear spoiler and diffuser, and roof and door mirrors painted Berlina Black, which is a typical Honda color. Acura amplifies the visual attractiveness of the vehicle by doing all of these things. The three colors that will be available are going to be Curva Red (with a black interior), 130R White (with a red interior), and Long Beach Blue (with a white interior). The introduction of these three colors is going to coincide with a holiday weekend in the United States of America. Go, America! The NSX was another source of motivation for developing all three of these colors.

Other enhancements made to the PMC include blacked-out badges and summer tires by Pirelli named P-Zero. The inside trim is constructed of carbon fiber and LED “Type S” door sill plates have also been added. The final product is a TLX Type S that is subtly distinct from other models of the same series, but not in a way that would make it obvious if you just saw one driving down the street.

2023 Acura TLX Type S PMC Edition Released

It goes without saying that the most scrumptious and even more subtle characteristic of these PMC vehicles has always been their hand assembly, which is simply and plainly unique for automobiles that do not cost an exorbitant amount of money. We anticipate that the pricing of the Acura TLX Type S PMC Edition will not be too costly, coming in at only a few thousand dollars more than the base model. Imagine, once again, that there is anyone who is prepared to pay a bit higher price for something like a hand-built version of the Ford F-150 or the Honda Civic. It is bizarre in addition to being kind of perhaps awesome in the back of your head. We will be aware of the final pricing when the order books open for the TLX Type S PMC Edition later on in this year, and it is likely that we will also be aware of the degree to which limited production will be implemented at that time.
