2023 BMW i4 eDrive35 – Battery electric cars are expected to make up fifty percent of BMW’s new vehicle sales by the year 2030, according to the company’s projections (BEVs). It has already sold over 57,000 electric cars around the world just this year up to this point, in part due to the success of its brand-new i4 all-electric car, and the good news is that the celebration is not going to finish there. A recent announcement made by BMW revealed that the 2023 BMW i4 eDrive35 would be the name of the company’s next entry-level sedan version of the i4. This new i4 car will be equipped with a single-drive motor that will have a power output that is far lower than what was estimated for its driving range.
2023 BMW i4 eDrive35 Release Date & Price
The new eDrive35 is the entry-level model in the i4 lineup, which also includes the i4 eDrive40 and the i4 M50, which is the high-performance variant of the i4. It begins at a price of $52,395 (including the fee for delivery), which is about $4,000 cheaper than the price of the now-middle-tier eDrive40. Although it only has one engine, it shares the vast majority of its operational gear with other BMW i4 and iX models, despite the fact that it only has one. However, the power generated by its motor is far less.

Although these are preliminary power statistics, which may change by the time the vehicle is produced, the battery pack has 66 kWh of usable high-voltage energy storage that is used to power a single, rear-mounted synchronous motor that is capable of producing up to 281 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. This motor is driven by a single transmission that is capable of delivering power to the wheels. 5.8 seconds is the amount of time the manufacturer estimates it takes for the eDrive35 to get from 0 to 60 miles per hour. To provide a point of reference, the motor found in the eDrive40 model is capable of producing 335 horsepower as well as 317 pound-feet of torque, and it has a battery that is 81 kWh in capacity.
BMW predicts that the eDrive35 trim will be capable of attaining up to 260 miles of projected range before it will need to be topped up, using the same EPA test method criteria. This is the company’s current best estimate (the actual EPA range may be different once it is announced). This trim will be offered, and it will be equipped with wheels that have a diameter of 18 inches. According to preliminary research and testing, the battery can be charged using a DC fast charger at a rate of up to 180 kW, which increases the battery’s state-of-charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in the timeframe mentioned, which is just half an hour. An increase of this magnitude in state-of-charge may be accomplished in as little as half an hour.
The new model will be just as capable of over-the-air software upgrades as its i4 brothers, giving enhanced functionality to the revised BMW Operating System 8 that is running on the enormous curved display that is located inside the interior of the vehicle. The new model will be released later this year. The eDrive35 may also be outfitted with all of the same optional add-ons that are available for the eDrive40. These include larger wheels (which may have an adverse effect on fuel economy), the Shadowline dark accent trim package, or the luxury package, which includes amenities such as heated seats and steering. It is anticipated that the first shipments of the brand-new eDrive35 will begin within the first three months of the year 2023.
